Meet Shawn
Hi, I’m Shawn.
I’m a professional sports photographer in Nova Scotia, specializing in sports coverage and elite sports portraits across Atlantic Canada.
My story isn’t the one you’d probably expect. I didn’t grow up with a camera in my hands, and I never dreamed of becoming a professional photographer. Instead, I spent 12 years proudly serving in the Royal Canadian Navy, where I learned the value of preparation, discipline, and staying focused when every second counts.
It wasn’t until after leaving the military that I discovered photography. What started as a creative outlet quickly became a passion, and eventually, a profession.
Today, those same values come with me to every event I photograph. Whether I’m covering a university championship, a professional club, or a young athlete’s biggest game of the season, my goal is always the same: to create authentic images that tell the story behind the competition.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing organizations across Atlantic Canada, including Dalhousie University, the Halifax Mooseheads, the Halifax Wanderers, and the Halifax Tides, serving as President of the Sackville Photography Club, and earning accreditation as a Professional Photographer of Canada.
Whether it’s a championship final or a young athlete’s first game, I still arrive with the same excitement I felt when I first picked up a camera. Because every athlete has a story worth telling—and every moment matters.

I’m an Accredited Professional Photographer through the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC), a PPoC member, and fully insured for professional photography services
