Information about image ownership, sharing permissions, commercial use, and how SportsByShawn photographs may be used.
Image Ownership
Unless otherwise agreed upon in writing, SportsByShawn retains copyright ownership of all photographs created.
Purchasing a photography service provides permission to use the delivered images according to the agreed usage terms. Copyright ownership is not transferred unless specifically included in a written agreement.
Personal & Team Use
Delivered images may be shared and enjoyed by athletes, families, and teams. Athletes and families are welcome to share images with friends and relatives and post them on personal social media accounts.
Teams and organizations may use delivered images for internal promotion, websites, social media, and athlete recognition unless otherwise specified in the original agreement.
Commercial & Third-Party Use
Delivered images may not be sold, licensed, provided to third parties, or used for commercial advertising without prior written permission from SportsByShawn.
Permission to use images does not grant permission to transfer usage rights to another individual, company, organization, publication, or media platform unless included in the original agreement.
Editing & Image Alterations
Delivered images represent the completed creative work of SportsByShawn. Editing choices, including colour, contrast, cropping, and overall style, are part of the final image.
Images may not be edited, altered, filtered, or modified without prior permission. This includes applying presets, changing colours, removing elements, or using editing tools that alter the final photograph.
Photo Credit
Photo credit is always appreciated when sharing images online, but is not required unless specified in a separate agreement.
If you enjoy the images and would like to support SportsByShawn, tagging or mentioning my work when sharing is greatly appreciated.
Professional & Custom Agreements
Professional teams, universities, leagues, media organizations, and commercial partners may have different image usage requirements based on their needs and policies.
Usage rights, licensing, ownership, and distribution terms may be negotiated as part of a custom written agreement. Any custom agreement will take priority over this general Image Usage Policy.
